Balloted for Industrial Action - Coastguards take unprecedented action (short of strike) to fight for equal pay - 2011 Matter still not resolved due to being ignored by MCA

The Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) having published the results of their consultation document to modernise H M Coastguard for the 21st century. Parliament announce changes to Station Closures, in Wales Holyhead and Milford Haven Coastguard Station remain open 24hrs a day. Swansea and our paired station at Liverpool to close

• The new proposals of Government are the reduction of the eighteen Maritime Rescue Coordination Centres (MRCC) down to eleven. All of these stations will be operating on a 24hrs basis to coordinate Search & Rescue, one on England’s South Coast will be the UK Marine Operating Centre (MOC)

• A total of 8 Stations will close
